#16 The corn farm

There is a corn farm nearby my house. I like to see this field whenever I go out for a walk. It often tells me the changes of the seasons.

At the starting of the year, this cornfield is completely covered with snow. I can see a massive plain land and it is perfect to see the mountains that are standing far away. The snow on this field does not melt as quickly as the rise in temperature. It remains on the land until the end of March when the daytime temperature is becoming moderate.

Spring is a planting season. The landowner begins to plough this field to plant corn seeds. Interestingly, the farmer never changes the plants from corn to another. So, I can see the corns growing in the summer without any changes in its’ scenery every year.

In June, the farmer plants corn seeds. The corn sprouts quickly come out from the land and then I can see the green colour spreading over the plain. These sprouts grow quickly and start to produce their vegetables, corns. This is the season when I sometimes can see baby geese walking after a mother goose between the corn plants. How peaceful it is to see them.

When the height of the corn plants exceeds my height, it is the time when they signal me the starting of the summer. At this moment, I can no longer able to see the mountains over the field. What I can see are the only huge yellow coloured corns that are looking really delicious. When I look up to see the ears of the corns, I also can find red dragonflies taking a short break.

Today, I went for a walk and took a look at the cornfield. Most of the corns were already harvested. Instead of them, I could see a lot of dragonflies flying over the cornfield. This scenery tells me that Autumn is coming shortly.
